Cheney Family Reunion

It's here again! The Cheney Family Reunion!! My kids count down all year for this, and I'm right in there with them. Everyone was able to be there this year! It felt like a little piece of heaven.







We had a little 'unbirthday' party where my parents gave all the grandkids presents. They were pool supplies and these super cute swimcovers that my mom sewed--didn't they turn out good!

There were crafts and activities galor!

The pictures turned out a little dark, but this is amazing! I'm sure you thought there was nothing else to add to my parents cotton candy machine, soft-serve icecream machine, snowcone machine, popcorn machine, and drink dispenser. You were wrong! My dad built a Grandma and Grandpa Cheney's Treat Cupboard! It opens on the back too. Absolute heaven for the kids! (and adults!

Swimming swimming! Andersin spent most of his pool time blowing water out at people. Not only did it (I'm sure) get old for everyone else, but it gave him awful rug-burn under his mouth--you'll notice in all of the family pics...

My brother-in-law Brandon made this awesome life sized Tetris game that we played. It was intense and really fun. He's so creative!

Even the two year olds got into the game of Herkamer (this colorful clip that you secretly put on people when they're not looking. It's random, but a fun little game we play throughout the week.)

Aloha! Our Hawaiian luau was as fun as it looks. Everyone is a good sport and has a great time.

Man, I don't even know where to begin with this next set of pictures! I don't know if I've ever experienced anything so random or funny! Curtis and Marie brought this one game (I have never heard of it besides there) that was kind of like a non-deadly Russian Roulette. You each hold this metal remote thing that is attached to a main base. On the base lights will blink and when they stop you push the button on your remote. The last person to push their button gets a serious shock of electricity! No joke; and it isn't some little buzz--it is scary and hurts too! The anticipation is what killed me! I only did it once--and hated it!

She obviously didn't loose, or she wouldn't be smiling. Looks like Brent lost.

Here Brian and Curtis wanted to see if they could get the shock to travel through Brian's body into Curtis's. I don't think it worked in Brian's favor!

We did a whole slew of Minute to Win It games--they were soo fun! Everyone was involved and even the little kids had a blast.

This one with Lance was particularly funny. They had to see who could empty out a kleenex box the fastest. The girls looked like they were easily going to take the W, but then Lance was done and cheering for himself--getting in their faces and rubbing it in. Eventually we looked in his kleenex box and saw it was still half full! He thought that since one didn't pop up it was empty. Needless to say he felt super sheepish!

We have a big pinewood derby every other year. My parents this year made trophies for each kid with their names engraved on them! Talk about a lot of work they put into this.

This is the first year Andersin has really cared about how he did in the pinewood derby race. He had tears in his eyes out of anxiety when the winners were being announced. He really wanted to win. And, his little prayers were answered--he won first place! Actually, our little family took the top 3 spots out of the 25. Way to go us!

My dad spent a lot of time adding two slides to the pools. He built steps then secured the slides down. He even made it so water sprayed down them to make water slides. They added a lot to an already fun pool.

We went outside and saw some people lighting some Pioneer Day fireworks. I thought this picture was cool because the glow necklace Masen was wearing makes him look like a spaceship is beaming him up.


Even with all the awesome activites and fun things to do at my parents house, my favorite part will always be the times when we are just all sitting around talking. Man do I love my family!
